Become a UNY-PRC Research Affiliate

Research Affiliates help build our community of practitioners, scholars, and community activists engaged in research and advocacy around policing and incarceration. We are only as strong as our members. Opportunities are always subject to capacity and affiliate participation.

We encourage many forms of contribution to UNY-PRC. Our Research Affiliates: 

• Attend conferences with UNY-PRC interns and members.
• Acknowledge UNY-PRC in your publications.
• Mentor interns .
• Provide graduate school and law school advice.
• Write recommendations for interns.
• Participate in the training of interns around areas of expertise and interest.
• Participate in fundraising and grant applications.
• Facilitate UNY-PRC workshops, reading groups, book talks, retreats, or other events.
• Attend events.
• Contribute research materials to the UNY-PRC Digital Archive.
• Facilitate community partners on your campus and/or community. 

UNY-PRC offers many potential benefits to Research Affiliates:

• Citation of your publication on the UNY-PRC website and inclusion of new publications in the newsletter.
• Intern research support.
• Organizational affiliation for scholars applying for grants, etc. 
• UNY-PRC functions as an organizational home for independent scholars or as a potential community partner for researchers.
