DeLaney Painter is an Upstate New York native and graduate of Binghamton University, where she earned her B.A. in Human Development through the College of Community and Public Affairs (CCPA). As a researcher and intern with the Upstate New York Policing Research Consortium (UNY-PRC), she has contributed to research on policing, incarceration, and restorative histories, including helping to build a digital archive that preserves and amplifies justice-related narratives. Her research interests center on innocence, wrongful convictions, and the ways institutions shape individual and community experiences. DeLaney will continue her studies in Binghamton University’s 4+1 Master of Public Administration program, where she plans to further explore the intersections of research, policy, and justice.
