Ann Marie Byrd, retired academic, grew up in Rochester, New York, in the neighborhood her German immigrant great-grandparents settled in the late 1800s. Her research interests include gender, policing, and mental health. Ever hopeful, she lives in Florida and advocates for human rights and social justice.
